stolen from Wicked Chops Poker

Check out the look on Howard's face at about 2:50 when Eli admits he has 17 full tilt names. LMFAO? Permaban one time?

Bad beat story

Just a heads up yes, this is a bad beat story. Yes I could have played it better, but it still sucks.

Game is 1-2NL in phx

I am the straddle, and like normal for this game 7 people have completed the 4 to see a flop. I look down and see J6hh. I raise it to 20 on top and get 3 more callers. We now have about 90 in the pot. Flop comes down 232 with 2 hearts. BB checks to me and I move all in for about 85 dollars. I get one fold, then a player tanks for about 45 seconds before calling. The last player folds and I say "dealer I would like 1 heart" the other player hears this and says "Well then I am in deep trouble then" and he rolls over 9Thh. An off suit 6 falls on the turn, and you guessed it bink 9 ball on the end.

Such a sick hand bluffing with best hand and the best draw and I still can't manage to win the hand.

First ever live straight flush

1-2NLHE game at Poker Nation card room

Action goes down like this.

I have J8dd in the big blind. I check my option and see a flop of 7d9dTc
I have flopped the straight with straight flush redraw.
I check in the BB and MP bets 7 into pot of about 10. I flat call from the along with the button.
The turn brings the 2d. I make my flush and bet out 18 into the pot. MP calls and button folds.
River is the Gin card the Td. I react and check visebly upset and check. MP bets 25 and I tank for a min and shove for a total of like 100. He instacalls and turns up AdTs.

Sick sick cooler. I was ahead on every street but I am sure I don't make much money on the end unless the Td comes. Pretty crazy ass hand. So now I don't ONLY post bad beats on this blog.

So here is my team. I am super happy with how the draft ended up running. Pretty much every player that I targeted fell to me exactly when I wanted them too. I am stoked with the depth that I have at wide out and QB. I might be a bit thin at RB, but I have a few things working to solve that problem. Lets hope that everyone stays healthy and it is a championship season for the Ballas

Ship it to Elaine Wynn

Ship free suites at the Wynn and Encore for life

J-Kidd must have had some really high class hoes sent up to his room on a regular basis. What the over under on how long til Elaine leaves Steve for J-Kidd? Then parlay that to the over under on when he get brought up on charges for beating the shit out of her? You think I can get that on the big board at Wynn? Maybe at Bodog.

Playing a rush

I know it makes zero mathematical sense to believe in a "rush" but I just can't help it. It has to be the sickest feeling ever when you look down at 9Qo and just KNOW you are going to get there so you have to play it.

I had one of those sick rushes last night. I played the $40 tourney at my local card club and I really thought it was going to be a rough night. I managed to get all in preflop with the best hand 4 times and didn't win a single one of them. Its tourney poker, so you expect to lose some of your flips but I was amazed I lost all 4 including AQs vs ATo.

After I finally busted out of the tourney we started up a 4 handed cash game and thats when the magic started. I modified my game a bit knowing that I needed to play more hands 4 handed than I would at a normal 10 handed table. I was opening up for a raise any suited king or better, flat calling in position with speculative hands like suited 1 and 2 gappers, and playing almost all of my hands in the blinds. When the rush started I absolutely couldn't miss. I ran $100 up to $200 in a stretch of about 15 hands including calling down a player on a 38J7A board with 99 and winning. Next I started to see a lot of 1 and 2 gappers, 8T, 53, 89, J7 hands like that. It seemed like every time I played them I flopped a straight draw, either a gutterball or open ended and I just couldn't miss on the turn. I must have turned 5 or 6 straights during the course of about 2 hours. All my big hands were either holding up or I was pushing players off of there hands by playing aggressively. I was making sick calls on players that I just had a strange feeling didn't have anything but air. I was totally in the zone. It was a beautiful thing. I ended the night by running my $100 buy in up to $380 when the game finally started to break.

The rush is the most amazing feeling in poker, but its also a double edged sword. I am sure that if I would have kept playing longer that rush would have ended and I would have given it all back, I guess I am just lucky the game got short when it did. Anyone have any thoughts on playing a rush?

Hand question

So I am in Cincinnati on business and decided to head out to the casino in Indiana to get a little poker action in. So here is the scene. I have been on a list to get a seat for just over an hour and a must move table opens up for the main 1-2 game. I grab a seat and sit back and watch a few hands. I have been watching the main game and really really want to get into that game. I have noticed at least 2 if not 3 VERY easy spots in the game. Example I saw a women fold QTcc on a Jc 9c Kh 9s board to a 60 dollar bet. Said women then got pissed when the winner showed an off suit QT to take down the pot. So basically I wanted in that game BAD! I was 3 on the must move list. The game starts up and I sit and watch about a full orbit without playing a hand and just get a feel for the game. The game seems pretty rough and I can't see an obvious weak spots in the game. The 3 hands happen.

Hand 1

I have Q8hh in the hi-jack. 3 limps in front I call and the button behind me calls SB completes BB checks. We see a flop of 245 rainbow. Checks to me and I fire $10 dollars at the pot and get called by the Asian on the button. Turn comes a 4 putting a backdoor flush draw out. I fire $20 at the pot and get called by the button again. River comes a T and doesn't complete the flush. I check and pretty much give up on the hand, the button bets and I fold. I feel I played the hand pretty bad and should have never put more than 2 dollars in the pot, but I felt like I needed to open my game up.

Hand 2

I have AJdd UTG+2. I raise to $10 and get called in 4 spots behind. SB and BB both fold. We see a flop of 9hQcJs. I fire $20 at the pot to see where I am at and get called by 3 of the spots behind. At this point I know I am in trouble. The turn comes a Th. I check the player directly to my right bets $25 and get 2 calls behind. I feel I have a some outs still and the pot is laying me the right price and call. The river is a 3h. I check and fold to a bet of $45 . The Bettor show AKhh. OOPS just kind of ran into a monster in that hand. I guess I could have folded the turn, but I felt I have at least 3 outs and was already getting laid like 5-1 from the pot with some pretty high implied odds if I hit my card.

Hand 3

After the last 2 hands I am down to about $100 in my stack. I find A8cc UTG. I limp and 7 of us see a flop of 9c9sQc. I check fully expecting to c/r someone off of a Q. I get my wish when the button bets $20 into the pot. I c/r all in for for $70 more everyone folds to the bettor who snap calls me with 9Thh. I miss my outs on the turn and river and he hits the case 9 on the river to make things even worse.

Tell me what everyone thinks of the 3 hands. I feel I played pretty bad this session and it cost me quite a bit. Not only the buy in I lost but I never made it to the main game where I am 100% there was money to be made.

Adam Dunn

Lets hope we see a lot of this man hitting the ball out of the park in phx. I think he strengthens the lineup and hopefully gets Conor, Mark, and Chad some better pitches to hit. Most importantly, hopefully he keeps Justin Downton on the bench. Justin just isn't ready. Give the kid another year.
