D-backs lineup

Here is Bob Melvin's 1-8 from last night.

C. Young
O. Hudson
E. Byrnes
C. Jackson
C. Synder
M. Reynolds
S. Drew
J. Upton

I just don't understand what he is doing here. Chris Young just isn't a lead off hitter. For the love of god the guy strikes out more than a fat guy at the playboy mansion. I don't care what anyone says, Conor Jackson is not and never will be a good cleanup hitter. Chris Synder in the 5 hole? Really? You have got to be kidding me!

Here is my proposed line up for Mr. Melvin

J. Upton
O. Hudson
E. Byrnes
C. Young
C. Jackson
M. Reynolds
C. Synder
S. Drew

or

E. Byrnes
J. Upton
O. Hudson
C. Young
C. Jackson
M. Reynolds
C. Synder
S. Drew

Chris Young in the 4 hole could make him a whole new hitter. Now he can be the power hitter he really wants to be and can really go for the fences and not hurt the team. Justin Upton should get a shot at the lead off spot, if he struggles then you jumble up the line up and slide pig pen up to the top. If Justin really struggles then you can slide Steven Drew into the 2 hole and drop Justin to the 7 or 8 spot. You also slide Conor down in the line up where he gets a better chance to hit with runners in scoring position and doesn't need to hit the ball out of the ballpark as much.

I would love to see Melvin try this for a few games and see what these young kids really could do.
